"Breeding for the Best"
|
Canzone is Italian for "song". We like the name for many reasons, one being that our four standard poodles put songs in our lives each day. Plus, one of us is an opera buff!
We are a family of two grown men, one college age nephew, and four standard poodles. When Geoff and I first became a family in 1995, Geoff also came with two dogs, one a standard poodle named Tucker. Every since then, we loved the breed; we acquired Maggie in 1998, Toni in 2006, Bella in 2007, and Trudy in 2008.
TURBO (Champion Avion Turbulence II), bred and owned by Yvonne Hagman and featured on the cover of the most recent Poodle Variety Stud Issue, and BELLA (Champion Safari Bella Canzone Di Notte), will produce our first litter of puppies. We anticipate having one litter a year for each of the next several years in our small breeding program for top quality companion and show dogs. Turbo (Black) and Bella (Blue) will likely produce black, blue, and white puppies, due March 14, 2010.
Our commitment is to total responsibility in breeding standards as outlined in the ethics from Poodle Club of America. To get to this point, we have had much mentoring and assistance from Dr. Cynthia Huff of Safari Standard Poodles, Illinois, as we purchased both of our breeding bitches from her. Our most recent bitch, Trudy, is her 118th American Champion! Cynthia has bred top quality standard poodles on a solid record of pedigree and health for over 40 years.
We have two breeding Standard bitches:
BELLA (Champion Safari Bella Canzone Di Notte) who has cleared all of the genetic related health checks, and
TRUDY (Champion Safari Canzone Di Veritas) who will be tested after she turns two years old in May, 2010.
Turbo and Bella each have many generations of successful background in their pedigree with multiple champions, national and international honorifics. We are expecting top quality show dogs as well as great companion puppies in this litter. The breeding coefficient is unusually low at 5.61, twelve generations; this is a cross-breeding to keep the genetic pool healthy and deep.
Total responsibility means we only breed healthy dogs with completely cleared health checks, no compromise. We breed dogs with outstanding temperaments who are confident, friendly, intelligent, and easily trained. Please contact Jeff for any questions or for additional information.
